The Aluminized Rescue Blanket™, Model M-1, is the "original" heavy-duty, reusable, aluminum-infused, Flame-Resistant (FR) Para-Aramid knit fabric emergency blanket. (Kevlar®, a Para-Aramid fabric, is a registered trademark of DuPont Company.)
The M-1 Rescue Blanket is made in America and is constructed of the finest heavy-duty dual mirror aluminum-infused 8.4-ounce Ripstop Para-Aramid fabric. The blankets' 5-layer highly flexible construction is designed to provide maximum penetration and cut resistance, is lightweight, has 95% heat reflectivity, is durable, and provides years of reliable service. The blanket’s large 60” x 80” (182 cm x 203 cm) nominal size, heavy-duty cut, and fire-resistant Para-Aramid Ripstop material is lightweight, waterproof, and windproof. It will not support combustion while affording maximum protection for the patient from flying glass, metal, and plastic shards, flash fire, and thermal protection during auto extrication and rescue situations.
The dual mirror aluminum-infused Para-Aramid fabric can’t be beaten for its radiant and convective heat reflection in a fire situation. Glass shards, chips, saw sparks, water, and hydrocarbon-based compounds, debris, and bodily fluids are repelled by the heavy-duty aluminum-infused fire-resistant, waterproof, windproof RipStop Para-Aramid fabric.
The M-1 Aluminized Blanket is designed to provide many years of dependable service. Grease, oil, fuels, and bodily fluids are easily removed and cleaned with soap and water, then air-dried before storage in the protective case. Common disinfectants can be used to eliminate blood borne and other biological contaminants.
A BLANKET FOR ALL SEASONS
In wet weather conditions, the waterproof rescue blanket can be draped over patients, gurneys, and medical equipment to keep them warm and dry. In hot weather, the blanket can be suspended over a patient to provide shade and heat protection. In hypothermia situations, the blanket may be wrapped around the patient with the shiny side facing inward to reflect body heat back to the patient.
