EXTRICATOR ® RS - 2, 5 TON RESCUE SET w HYDRAULIC SPREADER
The EXTRICATOR® RS-2, 5-Ton Rescue Tool Set is more extensive and versatile than the RS-1. The additional tools include the hydraulic spreader, a 5-ton ram with attachments, additional extension tubes, and a storage box are included in this set. The combination of the spreader, wedge, and the ram with attachments makes it the ideal rescue tool for police cars and emergency vehicles. This set includes a heavy-duty 16 gauge steel lockable storage box measuring 10” tall x 9 ½” wide x 27” long. The set comes with the powerful “Wedge,” with a closed height of 3/8" at the tips, opening to a full 4 inches. The sizeable hydraulic spreader has a closed height of 1 and 1/2 inches at the closed end of the 2-inch wide tips, opening to 12 inches. A redesigned 5-ton Straight Ram with 5 ¼ inch stroke. The Spreader, Wedge, and Straight Ram are provided with heavy-duty screw-type dust caps to keep dirt from the hydraulic fittings when not connected to a pump and hose assembly. The ram is used with the accompanying attachments to provide powerful force application for lifting objects, prying open doors, spreading security bars, moving damaged vehicle sections, clutch and brake pedals, or heavy objects. This set also includes the rubber flex head and serrated saddle which conform to dashboards and other irregular surfaces, machined steel wedge heads, two (2) flat base plates, a 5-ton ram cylinder with 5-1/4 inch stroke, ram cylinder toe, ram plunger toe, two short tubing sections, 3”, 5”, 10”, 18” and 23” long high strength, heavy wall steel extension tubing sections for the ram and two heavy-duty connectors which are used for attaching pushing, spreading and bracing tools. The ram extension tubes have been improved with large knurled surfaces to provide better grip even in wet conditions or while wearing gloves. The straight ram with attachments can provide up to 5 tons of spreading force at a distance of over 3-1/2 feet.

The EXTRICATOR® RS-2 rescue set has recently been upgraded to a 5-ton set with a completely redesigned 5-ton hydraulic ram, incorporating a precision wound steel spring that provides fast and complete retraction even with the cylinder in a horizontal position, precision machined, and burnished cylinder bore to extend seal life and improve spring retraction rates, high quality specially designed seals are used to provide long life and optimum performance. The heavy-duty piston retaining ring prevents blowout and eliminates deformation; new heavy-duty bearings are designed to resist side load problems and avoid galling. The ram has an unprecedented lifetime warranty against material and workmanship defects.
The redesigned spreader has increased capacity, a convenient carrying handle, and high-flow hydraulic fittings with a dust cap, complementing the new heavy-duty, high-speed, H2T steel pump.

NEW PUMP DESIGN
The H2T pump’s design provides increased reliability in demanding rescue applications along with new features, including vertical or horizontal operation, a new high-flow design with a larger hydraulic piston and increased hydraulic reservoir capacity, new high-flow quick coupling fittings, all of which combine to reduce pump strokes while providing more rapid tool operation. New high-flow hydraulic fittings have been installed on the hoses and tools to utilize the higher flow of the H2T pump. The pump's internal pressure relief valve provides overload protection for your protection and safety, complying with ANSI/ASME B30.1 Safety Standards.
This new pump has a longer, stronger pump handle assembly, a large ergonomic grip, and a new, larger control valve, all designed for easy operation while wearing gloves. The hydraulic reservoir fill plug has been relocated to the top of the reservoir to permit rapid, easy filling without special stands. This rescue set is worth many times the investment at a budget-saving price.

REDESIGNED HYDRAULIC SPREADER and wedge
The hydraulic spreader has also been redesigned to include an ergonomic carrying handle, a fast-acting internal retraction spring in the cylinder, the elimination of external springs, and redesigned and more muscular arms with a closed thickness of 5/8", opening to 12" with over 6 sq. in. surface contact area per jaw, providing over 2,000 lbs. of spreading force at the closed tips. New high-flow ball check hydraulic couplings provide unrestricted oil flow for faster operation.
The redesigned wedge incorporates a new internal spring design to rapidly retract the ram in any position. The Wedge combines small size, lightweight, rapid opening and closing, and heavy spreading capacity in a 3.75 lb. tool with 3/8" thickness at the closed jaws. The jaws open to 3.75" and 5 sq. in. surface area per jaw, providing a massive 2,000 lbs. of spreading force at the closed tips.
