This RS-5 Extricator® Deluxe 10-Ton Aircraft Rescue Tools in this set can provide vast amounts of spreading and cutting power in confined spaces utilizing either the air-operated hydraulic pump or the hand-operated pump. The rescue tools include The “BOSS” hydraulic rescue spreader with jaws only ¾ of an inch thick when closed. Providing a large 11 square-inch pushing surface with 12½” of spreading capacity. The “BOSS” spreader will move or lift articles obstructing access, collapsed metal, or other obstructions, exerting up to 12,000 pounds of force with the tips when closed. The spreading force increases as the jaws open. This hydraulic rescue tool set facilitates fast and efficient rescue operations by lifting, pushing, or spreading entrapping materials. In addition to the powerful “BOSS” hydraulic rescue spreader, a 10-ton straight hydraulic ram with lifting and spreading attachments and a separate pump are included. The “BOSS” tool is operated by either an air/hydraulic pump, with power supplied by a preset air regulator designed to operate from air cylinders capable of providing from 2,215 P.S.I. to 5,500 P.S.I. of stored air pressure, or the hand hydraulic pump. The “BOSS” tool and hydraulic ram are designed to operate in open air, hazardous atmospheres, and underwater.

The 10-ton straight hydraulic ram, with a 6” stroke, is used with 5-inch, 10-inch, 18-inch, and 30-inch special high-strength extension tubes and spreading attachments to provide powerful lifting and spreading force where needed.

The RS-5 Deluxe Aircraft Rescue Tools Set provides an air-operated hydraulic pump to operate The "BOSS" tool from compressed air cylinders and a manually operated pump for those situations where compressed air is unavailable.

The new H1T-10 two-stage, steel hand-operated pump was designed to provide reliability and ease of operation for years. The pump offers high-flow hydraulic oil at 200 PSI in the first stage and 10,000 PSI of pressure in the second stage. The pump utilizes an internal pressure relief valve providing overload protection complying with ANSI/ASME B30.1 safety standards. The new speed flow design of the H1T-10 pump reduces handle strokes while providing more rapid tool operation and a more extensive hydraulic fluid reservoir with an easily located fill port relocated to the top of the reservoir under the carrying handle and a new larger fluid control valve designed for easy operation while wearing gloves. A more extended pump handle with an ergonomic grip has been integrated into the design to reduce the pumping force application required by the operator.

For applications with corrosion or weight considerations, the optional Model H-1T-A-10 aluminum pump provides similar performance, size, and features, while weighing in at a mere 9 lbs. is an available option.

AIR CHISEL

The AIR CUTTING GUN™ SET, MODEL C-10, is a component of this aircraft rescue set. This compact Air Chisel is designed to provide efficient, rapid cutting of sheet metal, aluminum fiberglass, and steel plates up to ¼” thick. The C-10 Air Cutting Gun may be operated from any SCUBA or SCBA or any other air cylinder equipped with a CGA valve with pressures from 2250 P.S.I to 6000 P.S.I. without the need to adjust the regulator. The C-10A model number designates the additional chisels provided with this aircraft rescue set.

RESCUE BLANKET

The M-1 Aluminized Rescue Blanket is made in America and constructed of the finest heavy-duty aluminum-infused Para-Aramid fabric. This blanket is designed to provide years of reliable service. The Aluminized Rescue Blanket’s large 72” x 80” (182 cm x 203 cm) nominal size and heavy-duty cut and fire-resistant rip-stop material affords maximum protection for the patient during auto extrication and rescue operations. The aluminum-infused fabric can’t be beaten for its heat reflection in a flash fire. Glass shards, metal chips, saw sparks, and debris is repelled by the heavy-duty aluminum-infused fire resistant, waterproof, windproof para-aramid fabric, providing a high degree of protection for the victim during the rescue operation.

The Aluminized Rescue Blanket, Model M-1, comes with a heavy-duty protective storage bag made of water-resistant rubberized nylon fabric. The bag is designed to keep the blanket clean and dry while protecting its shiny aluminized surface from damage during storage.

Grease, oil, fuels, and bodily fluids are easily removed and cleaned with soap and water; common disinfectants may be used to eliminate biological contaminants. The Aluminized Rescue Blanket should be cleaned, disinfected, and air-dried in its protective case before storage.

FUEL LINE PLUG SET

The FUEL LINE PLUG SET™, Model F-2, combines soft and hardwood plugs supplied in assorted sizes ranging from 1/8” to 1½” in diameter. This set provides the equipment needed to completely seal broken fuel and hydraulic lines, leaking pipes, and tanks ranging in size from 1/8" to 1-1/2" in diameter. These plugs provide a safe, non-sparking, inexpensive, environmentally responsible method of temporarily plugging leaking fuel lines, hydraulic lines, and holes in tanks, drums, or pipes. Plugging the leak is done by driving the plug into the leaking fuel, hydraulic line, pipe, or hole. After the leak is stopped, the system can be safely drained at a control valve.

In emergencies, stopping the flow of leaking fluid reduces danger to rescuers and victims, and the likelihood of fire, explosion, pollution, chemical exposure, and slip and fall hazards. In addition to alleviating the fire, pollution, and exposure hazards created by leaking petroleum and chemical product lines, cleanup and remediation time and costs are significantly reduced. HAND TOOLS

The Hand Tools included in this kit include locking pliers, wire cutters, Survival Axe® with saw, harness cutter and glass breaker, gas valve shut off, hammer and 12 other incorporated tools, 2 hammers, metal cutting shears, 3 Phillips and 3 Flat tip screwdrivers, pliers, adjustable wrench, pry bar, cold chisel. Hack saw with 6 blades and a rescue knife. This American-made hand tool assortment exceeds the requirements of FAA Circular 150/5210-14B. The tool set is designed to provide rescue personnel with the most frequently needed hand tools to rapidly effect rescue and extrication from an aircraft, vehicle, or other entrapment or structural collapse situation.
