LAND SHARK POWER CUTTER
The LAND SHARK ™ cutter was designed by Special Service and Supply in co-operation with Emergency Squad Training Institute to fill a need for a powerful, lightweight, easily controlled, self-contained heavy-duty extrication and rescue cutter without the need for power units, noisy external pumps, long hoses or batteries and chargers.
The LAND SHARK ™,
In situations where the air/hydraulic pump operation is desired, the pump is powered by a rugged factory preset air regulator. The regulator is manufactured to (Compressed Gas Association) CGA Standards. The regulator operates on any air supply cylinder equipped with a CGA valve, supplying air from 150 P.S.I. to 6,000 P.S.I. cylinders. No adjustment by the operator is required. The air regulator comes with a seven-year warranty and is protected by a pressure relief valve to prevent over-pressurization of the regulator, hose, and air/hydraulic pump.
The air/hydraulic pump is a heavy-duty self-contained pump operated by moving the positive positioning, three-way control valve using either the operator's hand or foot to provide up to 10,000 P.S.I. of hydraulic pressure to the LAND SHARK Cutter. The 4-way control valve with a center “off” position, holds the jaws in position and prevents inadvertent opening or closing of the LAND SHARK. A 10,000 P.S.I. hydraulic pressure relief valve, is incorporated into the air/hydraulic pump to prevent over-pressurization of the LAND SHARK ™ cutter and hoses.
The LAND SHARK ™ Cutter is designed and built in America to keep the weight and size of the tool to the absolute minimum necessary while providing the greatest amount of cutting force, reliability, and ease of operation for rescue operations.
The LAND SHARK ™,
- is designed to efficiently deal with tough cutting applications in rescue and incorporates many unique features not found in any other cutting tool.
- Designed, engineered, and Made in the USA.
- Works both on land or underwater.
- Accompanying air/hydraulic pumps and controls are designed to operate underwater, unlike battery and small engine-powered hydraulic cutting tools.
- Jaws that open a full 5½” to accept and cut the largest vehicle door and roof pillars. The 10,000 pounds of hydraulic pressure applied to the jaws, and the exclusive tapered of the hardened jaw design, combine to easily slice through the “A”, “B”, and “C” posts and roofs of vehicles. Steel, aluminum, titanium, fiberglass, and other materials are easily cut to facilitate rapid extrication of accident and machinery entrapment victims.
- Jaws are operated with the foot-operated 4-way control valve, on the air/hydraulic pump. The operator’s hands are free to position and control the tool. We eliminate the confusion, loss of cutting tool control, and instability associated with handle-mounted controls.
- Has an exclusive air/hydraulic power system or a high-efficiency manual pump, eliminating the need for gas or diesel-powered generators, battery chargers, hydraulic pumps, or long hydraulic hoses along with their associated starting and maintenance problems, tripping hazards or the need to carry spare fuel cans, or batteries and chargers required by other cutting tools.
- Virtually silent operation with either its air/hydraulic pump and optional double-acting hand-operated pump, promotes
- safety and efficient scene control, permitting communication between rescue personnel without requiring shouting or hand signals. Lower noise levels at the scene reduce the stress on accident victims and rescue personnel. The air/hydraulic pump operates from SCBA cylinders, SCUBA tanks onboard vehicle breathing air systems, a vehicle’s CAFS system, or an air brake system.
- Is the only hydraulic cutting tool designed for cutting operations above ground, in confined spaces, below grade, and underwater. The “exhaust” from the air/hydraulic pump is clean breathable air, eliminating the worry about exhaust fumes, asphyxiation, ignition sources, electric shock, and air pollution associated with other tools.
- Is the only hydraulic cutting tool designed to be self-contained in its operation. The optional lightweight aluminum, high-pressure two-stage hand pump to operate the LAND SHARK without any external power source for situations where external power supplies are not available or are not a desirable option. The aluminum hand-operated pump complies with ANSI/ASME B30.1 Safety Standard for hydraulically operated equipment.
