During auto extrication the M-1 Aluminized Rescue Blanket is used to protect the victims from breaking glass, saw sparks, metal chips and flash fires by securely wrapping the victim in the aluminized blanket and tucking all edges under the victim so there are no open areas. The blanket’s aluminized surface provides maximum flash fire protection by reflecting the heat, while its heavy material repels metal chips and glass shards.

The rescue blanket is kept clean and shiny by storing it in the accompanying protective case when not in use.
